Have you ever had a triggering moment? Where you hear a song, see an old picture, look at an old book, and all of a sudden you are drawn back to the past. You watch the moment play through your head as if its actually happening, until the song stops, the book is set down, or the image is gone. My father use to play this song all the time on his guitar when I was younger. I would either go sit on the floor and listen to him play (I just loved the sound of his guitar) or would sing these lyrics. Sometimes I would even play my flute to this song, playing only the the treble clef notes. Its interesting looking back, moments- such as that-don’t take place anymore. I wonder what happened. If it was only because I grew up and life took its toll or if we just fell apart. My father and I are not as close as we use to be, Sometimes I feel as if its for the best, other times I hear things like this song and wish for that moment to return.
